Orange County Audubon Society programs
are held the first Wednesday of the month, September through June. Come to the Fellowship Hall or the Bradner Room of the First Presbyterian Church, 33 Park Place
in Goshen, at 7:00.
Request from Orange County Land Trust. Birds need a place to nest.
In migration, they need places to feed and rest.
The Orange County Land Trust provides such places. They already own 14
properties totalling 1200 acres while having turned over some 100+ acres to
Palisades Interstste Park in Orange County. They also are protecting, as easements, another 28 properties
totalling 1771 acres.
They are working on protecting even more properties but they need
additional funding to do that.
You can help them by joining. Membership means not only paying dues but
taking an active part in choosing sites that need protection and helping
work through the processes that will protect that property. Dues start at
$50/year but, if that is tight, they will accept less. If you can give
more, that too will be gratefully accepted.
Check out their website: http://www.oclt.org/ to see the many activities
that the Land Trust has to offfer. Or call member Herb Stein at 496-7986
if you have any questions.
