Our field trips, although designed primarily for bird watching, are intended to create interest in flora, fauna, and all natural beauty in Orange County and vicinity. Most outings are on Sunday for a half day (unless otherwise stated) and normally around one mile in walking distance. All trips are cancelled in case of rain or bad weather. The public is always welcome.

Suggestions
Food: Snacks at your discretion
Binoculars: A must for bird watching enjoyment. 7x35, 8x36 or 10x50 recommended
Field Guides: Guides for birds, butterflies, trees, flowers, ferns, etc. are helpful
Footwear: Comfortable, sturdy shoes are recommended.
Dress: For winter trips, very warm clothing is advised, even for mild forecasted days. For other seasons, do carry warm sweaters or jackets. We walk slowly to better observe the smaller wonders around us. We do not hike.
Warning: The tick for Lyme disease is black, very small, and potentially everywhere. Nymphs are poppy seed size, and adults are sesame seed size. Both feed on human blood. We urge you, when on a field trip, to wear long-sleeved shirts and pants, with the legs tucked into socks. Check yourself for ticks upon returning home. You may also consider using a repellent.
Pets: No pets on field trips.
Children: Children over ten years are welcome on all trips. Other trips where younger children are welcome are so noted. All children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
